There are two kinds of risk that goes along with any creative endeavor: the risk of changing a sock and the risk of changing a life.
Sure, you can get criticized for wearing one sock that is of a different color and style than the other just like you can get criticized for changing someone's life.
Here's a question to ask yourself before you decide which kind of risk you want to be associated with:
"Is this the best I can do?"
(Hint: the second kind is a form of art whereas the first kind is a form of hiding).
