Ricercare on "St. Anne" by Gordon Young is a very peculiar piece. Peculiar in a sense that is neither a true ricercare in the polyphonic sense nor is it similar in any way to the famous Prelude in Classic Style which also comes from the same collection of Nine Pieces for Organ. Nevertheless, I like it very much. I think it is very effective even as a triptyque - Prelude, a softer Pastel and this Ricercare.
