This is the voice in your head asking you to double check one last time before you are ready to ship your project, before you are ready to play in public, before you are ready to put your art where it belongs.
It sounds like your well-wishing friend, doesn't it? But it's this weird force wanting to sabotage your efforts to fulfill your mission, nothing more (and nothing less). That's your inner dragon speaking. He doesn't want you to ship because he might get fired. And so we see recitals that are never played, CD's that are never recorded, organs that are never built, books that are never written, compositions that are never created, blogs that are never started, paintings that are never painted, businesses that are never founded, skills that are never learned, minds that are never changed. That's how people insulate themselves from the vulnerability that shipping creates. Don't fight, don't bargain, and don't engage with this voice. Instead ask yourself, "Have I run out of time or money while preparing this project?" If the answer is yes to any of these things, ship it now.
