Welcome to Secrets of Organ Playing Podcast #39!

Today's guest is Dr. Heather Hernandez, an organist from Phoenix, Arizona who is an organist at the Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic church there. We've studied together at University
of Nebraska-Lincoln more than 10 years ago. Heather also has been a student of Madame Langlais in Paris and her research was on chant-based organ works by Naji Hakim. We talk about what she learned from the masters, her approach to practice, and how to balance parenting and organ playing.

Welcome to Secrets of Organ Playing Podcast #37!

This week's most intriguing question from the listeners was about success in organ playing.

I while ago I created a video on this topic and today let me share with you the audio version.of this training with my thoughts on what it takes to
achieve success as an organist in this ever changing hyper-connected world.

This training was recorded in the car so I hope you will forgive me for some extra noise as I drove one Sunday after the church service I was asked to play back home. Towards the second half I was so focused on my thoughts that I missed the turn and drove past my house for a while.
