This Saturday, July 23 at the Vilnius University church for the first time in Lithuania I will improvise a storytelling recital "The Legend About the Dragon".
The listeners will hear a musical story about the dragon Basilisk who lived in the dungeons of Vilnius. One of the legends tells that under the Tower Hill there once lived a dragon who killed every person with his terrible gaze. But one time a young man came into the dungeon and carried a large mirror with him. Basilisk attacked the young man but he hid himself behind the mirror. The monster fell dead after seeing his image in the mirror. These images are a splendid and colorful material for organ improvisations. At the concert my listeners will have the text of the story. Meanwhile I will create a unified one hour long musical poem which will allow the lovers of organ music to travel to the world of legends in their minds. Tickets are available here.
