If you build it, they will come, says an old proverb.
If you create something worth talking about, people who need it from you, will notice it and will take action you want them to take. If you offer people a solution to their problems, they will gratefully seek you out. But what if your invention doesn't appeal to them? What if after all these efforts and hours you put in, people ignore you or even worse, resist the change you are trying to cause in them? Trust in authority. The lack of these two things will get in a way of your idea to spread. If people don't trust you and don't think you have the authority to speak to them about your idea, it's highly unlikely you will succeed. Here's another way to think about this: Who are "they" in your proposition? Who is the person you are trying to reach? Maybe your idea will catch on but with a different set of people?
