Before going on vacation, some people think like this: "I will walk in the park during the day and read a book in the evening. Can't wait for this to happen."
It's certainly nothing wrong with a walk in the park or reading a book, except that a person has already decided what his/her vacation is going to be. I find it rather sad that out of hundreds or thousands of choices how to use their free time, a lot people are so beaten down by the routine that they are content with a passive, consumer-like use of their days. They can't even imagine doing something a little crazy, stupid, frightening, generous, and remarkable. Something about which they (and others) would say "this is a bad idea" or "it might not work". Not even for a moment. Instead they could leave the doors of possibility open so that even after 5 years they would remember it as "I cannot believe I did it." PS Limited time offer of Practice Guide of Wär Gott nicht mit uns diese Zeit by Johann Nicolaus Hanff ends tonight.
