If the project you're working on requires that powerful people would pick you, talk about you, and support you, your project will probably fail. But it's not this kind of failure which is required to grow. It's a failure which empowers our inner dragons to say to us "see I told you." A true artist is self-sufficient, self-controlling, self-motivating, and self-validating. Choose a project at which you can fail many times and still have a privilege to show up tomorrow. That's where true happiness comes from.
