An organist, however skillful, will always remain organist if all she does is play an organ. An organist will transform herself into an artist when she finds a way to put her work into the world in some form or another.
In order for art to happen, there has to be a collision with another human being, a collision which changes both the person who is giving a gift as well as the one who is receiving it. Too bad that many people who play an organ are content with being organists because we don't have a shortage of organists. We have a desperate shortage of artists.
