I have recently read a study about the famous Harlem Village Academies (HVA) that they rank #1 in college enrollment among all non-selective high schools in NYC. Their results are spectacular for several years straight – in 2008 they scored 100 % proficiency on math exam for eighth grade and since 2011 - 98 % proficiency in all exams required for graduation.
One of the many ways they accomplished such results is through reading. They teach kids to love reading and they read 1 book every week.
52 books a year.
More than 400 throughout the time they study at HVA.
Reading that many books surely changes people.
Just a thought:
What kind of change we could see in an organist after 8 years if he/she sight-read 1 organ collection per week?

Don't have an organ at home?
Download paper manuals and pedals, print them out, cut the white spaces, tape the sheets together and you'll be ready to practice anywhere where is a desk and floor. Make sure you have a higher chair.
