My student was recording himself play the organ. His pieces were rather long and he struggled to play them without mistakes. After the session of a few hours he only managed to record several minutes. When I found out about this I said to him, "Record yourself in small episodes repeating each one only three times. This will allow you to play perfectly long enough to make a recording and you will not need to repeat the piece over and over in order to get everything right. Simply choose the best out of the three takes and move on."
