Some writers use whatever words they have at their arsenal to tell a story. It's safe, proven, and guaranteed to work. Others sometimes make up words which help express their ideas better. This gives them spark and originality.
Some musicians choose to create a musical story out of musical language somebody else created. But most of the masters you and I respect and admire chose to risk being misunderstood and criticized for finding their own voice.

Invent words, invent music, invent life. That's why we are here for.
