"How did you like my registration?"
"Was my prelude not too loud?"
Should you ask these questions of your priest or your pastor?
The reason you are asking these questions is that you are trying to please your boss and most likely you are acting out of fear.
You are afraid of what would happen, if your boss didn't like the way you played. If your boss didn't like the way you played, you are afraid of losing your job. If you lost your job, you are afraid that you won't have enough to eat. If you didn't have enough to eat, you are afraid that you will die.
Of course, these are probably not your conscious thought's but they are triggered by the oldest part of the brain which controls our instincts. This part of the brain is ruled by fear.
If you get hung up on pleasing your boss too much, you will lose an opportunity to create art.
A better way is to trigger the part of your brain which controls generosity and creativity. You can do this by asking yourself: "is this the best I can do?"
