Too often we ask for advice secretly hoping that it will confirm what we think, that we get reassured. Reassurance gives us deniability, reassurance means it's their fault, if we screw up. After all they gave us this advice, right?
Using advice as a crutch will certainly diminish our chances to do something remarkable which is the only thing we now have room for.
