Some people have asked me to demonstrate how you can play the same hymn in major and minor keys. I've chosen the National Anthem of Germany for this demonstration on the great organ at Vilnius University St. John's church. Notice how the minor version sounds just as interesting and colorful as the major version. In fact, you could create an entire improvisation by using various related major and minor keys for the same hymn, folk song, or virtually any kind of melody. I hope you will try it out yourself.
