I once met an organist who wasn't curious about his profession. Now why do you have to have curiosity about organ world? It's not like you'll have better chances for a good position, is it? When you go to a job interview for church organist position, do they ask you, "Well, John, we need you to perform hymns, preludes, and other organ music on Sundays. What's the length of the tallest organ pipe in the world?" "I'm glad you asked. I can easily put hymn tunes in the tenor on a solo registration and improvise preludes and toccatas. The tallest 64' pipe is as tall as five-story building, weighs 1.5 tons and creates 8 Hz vibrations that to our ears are similar to the rumble of helicopter hovering above the building."
