It's the perfectionist in our mind that wants to show off in front of others. "What will they think of me?"
Healthy striving on the other hand is completely different thing. "How can I get better from where I was yesterday?
The challenge and the opportunity then is to dismiss those thoughts and focus on your purpose.
By all means, try to improve yourself. A little bit each day. But don't blame yourself for making mistakes. Don't think of yourself as a loser.
A loser is the one who doesn't care.
