Isn't it nice to notice your playing gets more fluent every day?
This morning I practiced Prelude and Fugue in E Minor, BWV 548 by Bach.
I've been working on this piece for a few months now, with some ups and downs.
This is a terrific composition and quite challenging to play.
Usually I don't force things. I'm happy with the slow tempo because I know the longer I play it slowly, the easier it will become to play it at the concert speed.
Almost naturally. Without me even thinking.
Today I played it 3 times. And every time I practiced it, my technique and precision got a little bit better.
I'm feeling very relaxed when I play.
And very happy that I have this privilege to sit down and practice.
So if you're stressed out about reaching fluency, just immerse yourself slowly in the music and forget everything.
It's a blessing.
