I think this is the wrong question to ask.
Simply look at it this way - can you say that you are playing the organ better than 6 months ago? If yes, then what you do in the next 6 months will have a dramatic impact on your results too.
I guess that the real trouble you are having is not with practicing every day but with having a sense of higher purpose. Because if you can picture yourself as an organist on a mission, then practicing becomes a non-issue. You know that you HAVE to do it, at least for a short period of time every day.
In other words, in your mind you have to turn pro.
The best way to do it is to have some accountability, to know that there are people who are depending on you - your church service playing or your recital. Then fighting your own resistance becomes much easier.
The age doesn't matter. The purpose does.
