This morning Ausra and I went to the gym for group practice and discovered that the class has been cancelled.
It was a little disappointing because group training is wonderful motivator and our coaches are superb.
However, we didn't go home. We stayed and trained. Perhaps in our own way, perhaps the quality was not so high than when we'd practice with the group.
But we didn't skip practice. Today we moved perhaps 1 % closer to our goal. It is a good day.
What happens when your organ practice doesn't go according to plan?
When the organ at church is occupied or broken, when the church is busy?
Do you go home or do you adapt?
I hope you adapt.
I hope you practice on a silent keyboard, on a table, or in your mind and work on improving your 1 % of your organ playing skills each day.
On another note: today two copies of my Secrets of Organ Playing Calendar 2017 arrived. It will be a practical gift to my organist friends because they can mark X on every day they practice playing the organ. Pretty soon by marking X's they will have a chain. Their only objective is not to break the chain.
