Pinkevicius Organ Duo
Pinkevičius Organ Duo is noted for imaginative programming of their concerts and for having contact with the audience as one of their primary objective. Usualy, their performances are preceded by engaging comments that leave the listeners interested and active through the concert. Their specialty is arrangements of choral and symphonic repertoire. No matter whether you will hear a Mozart symphony or arrangement of 17th century choral polyphony, your listeners will be wanting for more.
Want to try something unusual and exciting? We offer also acclaimed organ lectures-demonstrations "Meet the King of Instruments". We have done around 50 organ demonstrations in various towns of Lithuania for all age groups: elementary school students, teenagers, and adults (also for tourist groups from abroad in English). Such organ demonstration normally include talks about the history of the instrument, explanation fo the mechanics, and sound demonstration of diferent stop families and stops with pieces that best represent them. To enhance listeners' appreciation this event, the demonstration could be done with exciting multimedia visuals (video projector, screen etc.). The lecture part is presented in a listener-friendly way.

Dr. Vidas Pinkevičius is an active promoter of organ improvisation and the organ art and popularizes this instrument through various lectures, seminars, demonstrations, and recitals. He graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in Vilnius with Bachelor‘s and Master's degree in Organ Performance. He also holds Master's degree from the Eastern Michigan University (USA) under Dr. P.Ruiter-Feenstra. V.Pinkevičius graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (USA) with the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Organ Performance where he studied under Dr. Q.Faulkner and Dr. G.Ritchie. At UNL, V.Pinkevicius has defended his DMA dissertation on Improvisation of Keyboard Preludes in the Style of J.S.Bach.
V.Pinkevicius won several prestigious scholarships and prizes, including Graduate Performance Competition at Eastern Michigan University in 2002. V.Pinkevicius performed recitals in many venues in Europe and the USA, including several international festivals. He participated in a number of major masterclasses and organ academies in Sweden, Austria, the Netherlands, USA, and other countries. As a soloist, he performed with leading Lithuanian orchestras. V.Pinkevicius frequently performs in organ duet together with his wife, Dr. A. Motūzaitė-Pinkevičienė. In 2008, V.Pinkevicius together with the flutist G.Gelgotas has released the first ever CD recording of the organ of Vilnius University St.John‘s church which is the largest pipe organ in Lithuania. Currently, he is the president and co-founder of the National Association of Organists (NAO) and teaches improvisation as well as music theory at the National M.K.Čiurlionis School of Arts and is the organist of Vilnius University. He also is the iniciator of the NAO educational project „the Organ for the Future of Lithuania“ with the goal to introduce the pipe organ to general audience in various parts of Lithuania, especially to children. | 
Dr. Aušra Motūzaitė-Pinkevičienė is a strong advocate for historical performance practices and her field of expertise is 17th century north German organ school and J.S. Bach. She graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in Vilnius with Bachelor‘s and Master's degree in Organ Performance. She also holds Master's degree from the Eastern Michigan University (USA) with Dr. P.Ruiter-Feenstra. A.Motūzaitė-Pinkevičienė graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (USA) with the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Organ Performance where she studied with Dr. G.Ritchie. At UNL, she has defended her DMA dissertation on 18th century east Prussian organbuilder A.G.Casparini and his organs.
